Adoption of North St Georges

As a result of meetings between the Parish Council, North Somerset Council and developers, it is now thought that various parts of the new developments will be acceptable for adoption by the District Council by Christmas. At the moment it is highly likely that this will include The Avenue, Pastures Avenue, Reed Way. Also, work will soon start to reduce the size of the roundabout at Saxon Court to a smaller island roundabout. Further work is ongoing, with regular meetings planned to check the progress of all works outstanding to ensure that the developments in all parts of St Georges are completed to an acceptable standard. Although just outside the Parish Boundary, the much vandalised play area at Walford Avenue open space is likely to be removed and replaced with an alternative play facility possible a Multi Use Games Area. Discussions are still ongoing.

Calling all Neighbourhood Watch Co-Ordinators

Are you a Neighbourhood Watch Co-Ordinator, or are you interested in becoming one? If so, then St Georges Parish Council would like to hear from you. The job of co-ordinator essentially involves receiving reports and information from the Police, and keeping your neighbours - about 20-30 homes - informed of any potential issues. St Georges Parish Council feels that an active Neighbourhood Watch can bring communities closer together, and is looking at ways to improve the working relationship between the Neighbourhood Watch and other authories. If you are interested in finding out more, or if you are already a co-ordinator, please contact the clerk.

Councillor Email Addresses

You can now reach your parish councillors by email as well as by phone. The councillors and clerk now have individual parish email addresses, and you can find these by clicking on the individual's name in the Your Representatives section of this website.

Station Road Playing Field

Efforts are continuing to finalise the transfer of the field from the Community Centre Association back to the ownership of the people of St Georges and in the care of the Parish Council. It is hoped that this will be completed in the very near future.
